Developing knowledge-based discrete-time simulation systems in AMIA

چکیده
In this paper, we present AMIA, a workbench for developing knowledge-based discrete-time simulation systems. AMIA is original in two respects: first it uses an algebraic modeling language for combining numerical and symbolic knowledge. Second, it integrates two new simulation algorithms able to exploit this combination of numerical and symbolic knowledge. AMIA also includes a model management system for supporting the modeling and simulation process.

متن کاملAn analytical model based on simulation aiming to improve patient flow in a hospital surgical suite
Surgical suits allocate a large amount of expenses to hospitals; on the other hand, they constitute a huge part of hospital revenues. Patient flow optimization in a surgical suite by omitting or reducing bottlenecks which cause loss of time is one of the key solutions in minimizing the patients’ length of stay[1] (LOS) in the system, lowering the expenses, increasing efficiency, and also enhanc...
متن کاملPole Assignment Of Linear Discrete-Time Periodic Systems In Specified Discs Through State Feedback
The problem of pole assignment, also known as an eigenvalue assignment, in linear discrete-time periodic systems in discs was solved by a novel method which employs elementary similarity operations. The former methods tried to assign the points inside the unit circle while preserving the stability of the discrete time periodic system. Nevertheless, now we can obtain the location of eigenvalues ...
متن کاملRecent Developments in Discrete Event Systems
This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...
